Why period data privacy matters — and how we think about it

When you track your cycle, you're recording something deeply personal: your body, your moods, your intimacy, your health. That data can reveal whether you're trying to conceive, whether you're pregnant, how you're feeling on any given day. It deserves to be treated with real care — not quietly sold to the highest bidder.

Unfortunately, that's not the norm. Many free period apps have made money by sharing or selling user data to advertisers and third parties. In a world where reproductive information can carry legal and personal risk, that's not a small thing.

We think it should work differently.

Our promises

Your data is never sold. No ad networks, no data brokers, no "anonymized" dataset quietly changing hands. That's the whole business model difference — you are not the product.

It's encrypted and protected. Your logs are secured, not mined. The goal is for your most sensitive information to stay exactly where it belongs: with you.

You control every share. Periodiva lets you invite a partner or supporter — but they only ever see what you choose to turn on. Nothing is shared by default, and you can revoke access at any time.

You can delete everything. Your account and your data are yours to erase, on demand. No dark patterns, no "are you really sure" mazes.

What privacy actually looks like in an app

Privacy isn't a line in a policy nobody reads — it's a set of design decisions:

• Collecting the minimum we need, not the maximum we can
• Keeping sensitive data encrypted
• Making sharing explicit, granular, and reversible
• Giving you a real delete button that really deletes

Why we care

Periodiva exists to make cycle tracking feel gentle and supportive — and you can't feel supported by something you don't trust. Trust is the feature. Everything else, from Luna to daily phase care, only matters if you know your data is safe.
